Hello Post 8 Family. It has been a challenging year for many of us. The Post is no exception. We are grateful for all the members who have renewed their 2021 memberships. The Post has a few ways to maintain itself financially and memberships sure help.
This year we have been hit with a loss of gaming machines. The company we lease to is going through a license renewal. Until we come to terms and they are up, we are down on gaming. This will have a negative financial impact on Post 8.
Our Hall rentals are back up and we are looking for any business we can attract. Many of our regular hall rentals stopped with Covid and it has been hard work to get them back. Thanks to Robert Coles for promoting our hall and scheduling special events.
Make sure to check the Facebook page for those special events or call the Post to inquire.
General membership meetings are every third Tuesday of the month at 1800. Please try to attend or put a calendar reminder on your schedule.
Post 8 is participating again this year in the Palm Mortuary Memorial Day ceremony. It will be held at the Downtown Palm Mortuary at 9:00 AM.
I hope this newsletter finds you all in good health. Tom Koch Commander

Post 8 Legion Riders
Great day to you ladies and Gents!!!
This past year has been a doosey!!!
We are pushing forward with the ALR and getting back to our mission statement, which is helping Vets, and their families when possible. Expect some new rides with a mission, and local Post 8 presence within the community!
It is sad for me to inform you that Norm Scott has unfortunately passed away. He was a great man, Legionnaire, and supportive member of the Riders
So far we have completed a poker run with the Steel Sirens, and a bike giveaway over at our Marine Brothers and Sisters facility at the Leatherneck Club. Sponsored by the Combat Vet Riders the NCO Army recipient of the bike will also be going out on a hunt/fishing trip of a lifetime!
Stay tuned, stay hydrated, and ride safe!!

Congratulations to all the new Officers.
We have a lot of catching up to do this year to get our Unit back to solid ground. If you’re an Auxiliary member please come to a meeting because we have much to improve and plans are in the works to keep us busy supporting our Veterans and the community. Meeting time has been changed to 12 noon on the first Sunday of each month. Your ideas and input are important.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, but, we’re up to the challenge.
